Post 395: Inspiration for Craft Stamper Magazine's Take it Make it Challenge-February

Hi friends !!

I'd like to share a Mixed Media Card I made as inspiration for Craft Stamper Magazine's Take it Make it Challenge for February. This time, the beautiful prizes are sponsored by Darkroom Door. Please do participate in the challenge for a chance at prizes, a Guest Design Spot and an opportunity to be published in the magazine!! All the rules are mentioned on the blog and we can't wait to see your wonderful creations :)

Here are a few photos of the card:

Process

First, I stamped the coffee image onto the watercolor paper panel and then did watercoloring with  zig clean color real brush markers, inktense pencils and a waterbrush. Then added a few highlights and shading with prisma color pencils. To add more interest & texture to the background, I added white gesso through a stencil in a few different areas.  Then stamped on a border and darkened the edges of the panel with black soot distress ink. Added the sentiment which is a die cut. (It was layered white on black and adhered slightly off-set to get a shadowed look). Finally matted the panel with black cardstock and foam mounted it on a white cardbase, 5 by 7 inches in size.
