Post 303: Art Journal Spread- You are Awesome...

Hi friends!

I'd like to share an Art Journal Spread- You are Awesome...This was for my October DT work for PABD, all the details can be checked out here. I'm also celebrating my 1st blog anniversary by having a few giveaways, they are open world-wide, if you'd like to take part, all the details are here.

Process:
- For this Art Journal Spread, I have used an old book, adhering a couple of pages together to lend it strength and then applying a wash of white gesso over the pages to prepare the surface.
- After that I have added strips of PABD’s Rainbow Hues and Prickly Cuteness washi tapes to create the pattern.
- Next, the gorgeous and traditional animal images from the PABD - Madhubani stamp were stamped onto printer paper and then glued onto the journal using mod podge.
- After this I did some watercoloring & the washi tapes acted as a good resist to the colors.
- Towards the edges of the page, stencil work was done using black soot distress ink and the PABD Stencil- Dimensional.
- Further, the title was stamped using the PABD-Bold You stamp and the smaller sentiments were heat embossed in white onto black strips.
- To add more interest, background stamping was done with a few sentiments using black archival ink.
- Then, some white dots were added using a white gel pen and white acrylic paint.
- In the end, black and white splatter was created to bring the whole design together.

Here are a few photos of the Art Journal Spread:

Post 302: Floral Friendship Card

Hi friends!

I'd like to share a Floral Friendship Card. This was for my DT work for PABD, all the details can be checked out here. I'm also celebrating my 1st blog anniversary by having a few giveaways, they are open world-wide, if you'd like to take part, all the details are here

Process:

-For this floral card, I have used the PABD- Rococo Stamp which has gorgeous floral images.
-The floral arrangement was stamped onto watercolor paper and then colored in using prisma color pencils.
-The background was watercolored using zig markers and an aqua brush.
-Then, this panel was die cut using the PABD- Scallop Rectangle die.
-For the sentiment, the PABD- Bold You Stamp was used. The word friend was stamped with Versamark Watermark Ink and heat embossed in white onto a strip of black cardstock. The card was assembled by adhering the white scalloped frame to the A2 sized black card base and then the watercolor panel was foam mounted.
-Lastly, a strip of PABD Washi Tape - Lovey Dovey was used as an embellishment onto which the sentiment strip was foam mounted.

Post 301: DT post for Bob n Betty- 3 Mixed Media Tags (pictorials)

Hi friends !

Hope you had a pleasant weekend. For those of you who know, my dad recently went through a heart surgery, so things at home have been quite hectic and a bit depressing. I'm sorry I haven't had time to craft or blog. He is still in the ICU and we are waiting for the doctors to give the go ahead so he can be shifted to the normal ward. Hopefully, he will be discharged from the hospital in 5-6 days and we are really looking forward to that.

Onto crafting matters now :) Yesterday, my pre-scheduled post went live on the Bob n Betty blog.

I've shared 3 simple mixed media tags using Bob n Betty's beautiful premium textured white chipboard. These tags are an easy way of using up lil snippets of pattern paper & faux leather which we inevitably collect as crafters. And it feels very good to finally use up papers from our 'I just cant throw away these leftovers from my pretty papers so i'll store it for later' box.

There are picture tutorials for all 3 tags. Please click here to visit.

Here is a little sneak peek of the tags:

Thanks a lot

Post 300: CAS Diwali Card (fish)

Hi friends!!

I'd like to share a Clean & Simple Diwali Card. This was made for my October DT work for Peek-a-boo designs, all the details are here.

This is an A2 sized, top folding card.

Process:
- Die cut white cardstock using the stitched scalloped rectangle die. Then colored the scalloped frame with Fossilized Amber & Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxides

- On the card base, masked off the edges and applied distress oxides through the Dimensional Stencil

- Stamped the beautiful fish from the new Madhubani Stamp on Canson Watercolor paper & colored it in with zig markers, then fussy cut it.

- Stamped the sentiment from the Diwali Greetings Stamp set onto a strip of watercolor paper & then colored in the strip with zigs and an aqua brush.

- To assemble the card, adhered the frame at a tilted angle onto the cardbase, also adhered the sentiment strip within the frame and then foam mounted the fish in the center, to add texture added a few gold strings under the fish to make it pop.

- In the end, adhered a few gold colored sequins for some sparkle

Post 299: Autumn Inspired Thanks Card

Hi friends :)

I've created an Autumn Inspired Thanks Card today. Created the background pattern in this card by embossing with leaf dies. Layering has been done by foam mounting the panel, adding twine & then the die cut words are also adhered on top of each other for the shadow effect.

Process:
1. Embossed the prima leaves dies onto a panel of white cardstock which was already die cut with a rectangle die.

2. Blended warm shades of distress oxides onto the embossed panel. A few small water drops were randomly flicked onto the panel to create oxidization, these were lifted with a tissue paper after a few seconds.

3. Adhered the thanks word die cut in white to a black die cut slightly off center so that a shadow effect was created, then adhered this to the card panel

4. Matted the card panel with a black scalloped rectangle die cut using foam tape

5. Then tied a jute twine around the panel and created a bow. This panel was then adhered to the card base with foam tape.

2. Blended distress oxides onto the card panel for an aged and softer look. Used Cracked Pistachio towards the edges and Fossilized Amber towards the center.

3. The sentiment was heat embossed onto a die cut black tag and a twine was tied to it. This was foam mounted onto the card panel.
